Alan Carr
I am a keen amateur photographer - interested in a variety of subjects
including Wales, Cornwall, steam railways and industrial history, specifically the
'landscapes of neglect' that were once thriving North Wales slate quarries.
My Nantlle photographs have been exhibited at the Welsh Slate Museum and are
published by me as a collection of b/w images with a brief history of the industry.
My photographs have appeared in a variety of publications including two book covers
one of which "Steaming Eccentrics" was commissioned by the author. I work in a college
of Further Education in Cheshire, supporting a computer system, organising IT training
and teaching IT. I dabble with website building when time permits (not often nowadays).
I am married with 1 child and a cat. I passionately believe in retaining sterling in the UK.
